I’ve received a lot of emails asking me about Project Payday ever since I mentioned it in a Post here last year. Now that I’ve been with them over a year, I thought I sit down and write a Project Payday review.

I found Project Payday thanks to Google when I was just browsing and doing some searches to kill time. I read through their website and found what they had to say as interesting.

So check them out is what I did. I spent about a day on the Internet doing a little research on them. I found many sites that claimed Project Payday was a scam. This alarmed me at first. But when I started visiting these sites, I started finding that most of these sites were sites built by Internet Marketers for the purpose of putting down Project Payday and selling you their version of how to make money on the Internet.

I also found forums and blogs where the Writers claimed they were making extra money with Project Payday. I did see some people who disliked the program and were unhappy with it. I emailed a few of the people who were disatisfied with the program. Some did not return my email and others just kept repeating the same ole thing without giving me clear cut reasons why they felt it was a scam. Other people told me that most of those who complained did not understand how the system worked and were looking for a get rich quick scheme and were dissatisfied when they found out that Project Payday was not a get rich quick scheme.

I knew this was true from my previous experience making extra money online by using Adsense. If you look on many Internet forums, there are a lot of people who feel Adsense is a scam as well.

It’s Free To Join

So I figured, what the heck. It’s free to join and it has good reviews from many users, not people trying to sell you something else. But the thing that sealed the deal with me was the $100 guarantee. It simple states that if you follow the 4 simple steps to making money as outlined in Method 1 and don’t make money within 24 hours, they’ll give you $100. There was no fine print. You follow the four simple steps and make money in 24 hours or they’ll give you $100. That’s a pretty good guarantee in my book!

When I signed up, I immediately read through the site and watched ALL of the training video’s. I had read that this was important for success and after looking back, I agree. The information about how to make extra money and the training video’s are a must if you want to maximize the the potential for making money from Project Payday.

Let me clarify something before I go further. Like I said before, the program is free to join.  Here’s how it works. When you sign up, you’ll be asked to sign up for a trial offer from a selection of many companies. Some of these cost a few dollars to sign up for the trial, some don’t. You can go this route or pay an up front fee to join, it’s your choice.

For example, I have always been curious about the identity theft protection of Life Lock. That was one of the major companies I had the choice of signing up with for a trial offer to get into Project Payday at no cost. So I took the trial offer and it cost me a few bucks for a 14 day free trial. About day 10 I decided I wasn’t all that crazy about it and canceled. They didn’t charge my credit card. If I had stayed with them past the 14 days, it would have cost me $9 per month. Since they didn’t charge me because I had canceled in the time frame I was suppose to, it was free.

There is an option to buy directly into Project Payday. Most of the people I’ve read about choos either a free trial of a product or service. But if you don’t feel comfortable doing that, just remember you have the option to buy a membership directly into Project Payday.

How To Get Started Making Money With Project Payday

Once your membership has been approved and you’ve read the instructions and watched the Free training video’s, you can start making money. The way you do this is by visiting forums where there are people who will pay you to fill out offers such as the one I did for LifeLock.

If you read through the instructions and watched the video’s, you’ll learn there are three ways to make money with Project Payday. One is Method 1 where you fill out offers for others, Method 2 is where you’ll pay others to fill out offers for you! The third is selling the freebies you may get from vendors.

Everyone begins with Method 1 because it’s the easiest. You’ll browse the forums looking for someone with an offer they need filled out. You’ll contact them and once they send you a link to their offer, you go through that link and sign up for the free offer. Once you’ve been approved by that Merchant, the person who you filled out the offer for will be notified by the Merchant and they will get credit for you signing up.

This is known as “Going Green” in the industry.

You’ll see there are a lot of people willing to pay you anywhere from $5 to $50 and sometimes more for you to “Go Green” on an offer.(when I did this, the majority paid around $10 to $15)  As I said earlier, this normally means signing up for a trial offer from a company. Some of these will cost you an up front fee. You do this just like most other offers. You use your credit card to purchase the trials that require a fee. If you don’t want to do this, then you can only search out free trials but some of them may require you to use a Credit Card. Make sure you know what the deal requires before signing up!

Now here’s where people get lazy. I use a sheet of paper to keep up with the trial offers that I take and make sure I cancel my free trial before the trial runs out if I do not like the product or service. A lot of people forget to do this or ignore it until they get charged on their credit cards! You have to pay attention here folks!  So be sure to use a sheet of paper or a spreadsheet and cancel those free trial offers by the end date unless you like the product or service and want to keep them. This is why companies give stuff away and offer trials. They want to get eyes on their products and get people to try them.

A lot of people get lazy and don’t keep up with their trial offers then get upset when the free trial expires and they are charged. Their own fault, not anyone elses. If you’re not the organized type or can’t keep up with stuff like this, I’d look somewhere else for a money making system!

Another thing you must do is to keep track of the offers you fill out. These companies only pay the vendor for one free trial per household. So if you sign up for multiple times for one offer, you won’t Go Green for the person you took the offer from and you won’t get paid. This is also an important part you want to look out for.

Another thing is that some people cancel their trial immediately after signing up for it. They don’t try the product or service. The companies can track such people and usually will not pay the Vendor if they have a habitual user continually doing this.

Summary of How Project Payday Works

Okay, I’m sure that long drawn out explanation was a bit much for some of you. So I’m going to give you a real life example of how it works.

Once I’ve signed up, I go and visit one of the forums and look for someone willing to pay me to Go Green on an offer for them. You’ll usually find quite a few offers. Let’s say I find an offer for LifeLock and the person is willing to pay me $10 to Go Green for them on LifeLock. I then use their link to go to the LifeLock offer and sign up for their trial offer. Once I’ve completed the offer, I then send the details back to the person who I went Green for. Once LifeLock has notified them that they have a legitimate sign up, they then turn around and put $10 into my PayPal account. This whole process is usually completed in a day but sometimes it may take two days.

Just keep track of your offers and the people you went Green for.

I then use the product or service for the time of the trial. If I like the product, I pay the price and keep it. If I don’t like it, I cancel my trial offer before the deadline.

It’s that simple! I normally did a few of these offers a day.

Once you’ve used Method 1 for a while, you’ll want to start making more money. It’s then that you’ll move on to Method 2 and get people to sign up for YOUR offers and Go Green for you! You’ll get cash or merchandise for people Going Green for you. There have been many people on the forums who’ve received Laptops, Digital Camera’s, DVD Players and other high dollar goods for people Going Green for them but don’t expect those types of prizes right off.

The Downside of Project Payday

Here are a few things I didn’t like about the Project Payday service.

1. It can be boring filling out a lot of offers. This is the reason I eventually gave it up, it was so tedious that I thought I was going out of my mind some days!

2. It can be a pain in the rear keeping up with who you went Green for and which offers you’ve filled out.

3. Another pain is keeping up with your free trials and canceling them before they end if you do not intend on keeping the product or service. That’s why I use a spreadsheet.

Of course, to make money you have to put a little time and effort into it. This is not a get rich quick scheme. You can make some really good money but you have to use some common sense and put the time and effort into the program to make it work for you. Many people don’t have the patience to do this nor the discipline to keep up with the trial offers the sign up for. These people usually end up with a lot of charges on their credit cards.

In my quest to make money from home, I’ve tried a lot of programs over the years and spent a lot of money doing it. Project Payday is one of those programs where you can make a little money if you follow the instructions. You won’t get rich from it by any means so don’t think you can quit your day job.

The Nuts & Bolts of T-shirt Printing

Before starting your t-shirt printing business, make sure you have a business plan. Every business needs a business plan, no matter how small! Remember the old saying “Plan to succeed or you’ll be planning to fail” Business plans help keep you focused and keep your goals in sight. You can find many free business plans on the Internet or you can buy software at many of the Office supply stores like Staples and Office Depot.

The basics of starting your own tee shirt printing business from your home is having the right equipment and supplies. Many of these supplies can be had for pennies on the dollar by searching sites like ebay and craigslist. You will need a computer, a type of graphics program, inkjet printer, high-quality heat transfer paper, and a heat press.

Not all heat presses are created equal. There are several types of heat presses so be sure to do your research and choose the one that best fits your business and budget.

There are generally 5 different types of heat transfer presses.

• Very Small – These are normally called Label Presses and are used for baby clothes and other items where heat is needed in a small area.
• Small – These are great for iron on stickers and badges. They’re very portable which makes them appealing to many people. The downside is that they’re usually a lot smaller than most sheets of transfer paper for t-shirts.
• Medium – This size is just right for t-shirts. Obviously more bulky than the other two. Medium size heat presses also come with more power, which is important for doing large orders (doesn’t cool off as easly)
• Large – This is the size if you plan on doing a log of 11×17 tranfers or large numbers or letters on t-shirts like jerseys. This is a large heat press, so make sure this is what you need before running out and buying one
• Very Large – You’ll normally not find these in a home ran business. These are giants of the t-shirt printing world and only large volume printers buy this type of heat press.

Buy quality heat transfer paper. Make sure to do the research to get the best quality because the better quality your products, the more customers will keep returning and recommending your services to others. There is heat transfer paper for dark and light t-shirts. This is where your planning will pay off. Don’t go buying heat transfer paper for dark t-shirts if all you plan to print are white t-shirts! I know that seems obvious, but it happens!

I’d recommend the commercial grade heat transfer paper. It’s not necessary, but it just seems to turn out longer lasting t-shirts than the cheaper heat transfer paper.

Advertising Your T-Shirt Printing Business

A major factor in making your tee shirt printing business a success is your advertising. Every company needs to advertise their services if they expect to have steady and reliable customers returning time after time placing orders for your t-shirts.

As I said earlier, the Chamber of Commerce in your area is a great place to start. You might even want to take some sample to show off during one of the Network meetings.

Other places to consider advertising your t-shirt printing business

• Flea Markets – No, not the little ones beside the road. I’m talking the huge flea markets. Most major cities have huge flea markets on the weekends. Make up several of each type and rent a booth. Make sure you have plenty of business cards out and promotional material for the people to take home.
• State Fairs – People come to state fairs to have fun and to look around. Our local state fair has a huge tent that people have to walk through to get into and back out of the fair itself. This gives you two chances for them to see your work! (see if your local state fair has something like this)
• Donations – Think about donating some of your t-shirts to non-profitable charitable organizations or events. You’ll be surprised at how much PR you can get out of donating a few shirts!
• Internet – In this day and age, I wouldn’t think of starting a business without a website! If you’re reading this, then you should already know the power of the Internet!
• Direct Mail – Direct mail can be a money producer for you. Instead of direct mailing residents, obtain a direct mail list of business’s in your area. You’d be surprised at how many business’s buy t-shirts for employees for all types of events from safety programs to the yearly company picnic.

Why didn’t I mention the Yellow Pages or Newspaper for advertising. It’s been my experience that both of these are going the way of the dinosaur. Most Yellow Page advertising is overpriced and I’ve always been able to get better results elsewhere for the same amount of money. When is the last time you picked up a phone book? See, I told you so!

There are limitless possibilities to starting your own tee shirt printing business. You just have to do your homework and if you want to be successful, you will want to be sure you have everything you need. No use in mortgaging the home, getting started in the t-shirt printing business can be done on a part time basis and started with a small amount of money.
