Squinkies
What’s up with Squinkies? Okay, they’re cute and adorable, but I hardly see why such a fuss over them! My kids are going bonkers for ‘em. I’m like looking at these Squinkies and thinking “You’re not a Cabbage Patch Doll or a Furby, so why the fuss?” Okay, I guess I’m dating myself here but I still don’t get it.
Anyway, I guess it’s just another sign of me growing older. What toys use to be ‘hip’ and ‘in’ are not long forgotten and today’s kids look at them as if they were primitive wooden toys. Which, by the way, I thought about buying for all my kids just to show them you don’t need the latest and greatest toy to have fun. Then I thought against it. They’d probably throw me in jail for child abuse if I bought my kid a hand made wooden toy instead of the latest and greatest commercialized toy on the market!
So it’s off to see about getting Squinkies at Wal-Mart. If I’m really lucky, I might swing by Dollar General and maybe they have some cheap knock offs! Naw…that wouldn’t work, the kids would know!
I did think about browsing ebay, but most of those are going for more than what I can get them at Wal-Mart or Target for. Which brings me to my next question, who buys stuff on ebay and pays more for them there than what you can get the same item at Wal-Mart or other department store for? I see that happen all the time. Don’t people price shop any more or are they willing to give $50 for a Squinkie plus shipping & handling!
If you’re buying your kids Squinkies this year, please let me know the method to your madness! Maybe it’ll help me understand all the frenzie or maybe I’m just being a Grinch!
